Impact investing [verb]

"Investments made into companies, organizations, and funds with the intention to generate a measurable, beneficial social or environmental impact alongside a financial return."

I have worked in the impact investment field since 2004 - as a start-up investor, business coach, corporate advisor, and fund executive - with particular experience in Africa and with marine/coastal projects.

Supporting Ocean Impact

I am in discussions with partners in the US, Europe, Mauritius and Australia regarding the feasibility and value proposition of an active Ocean Impact Fund or private venture that would provide finance and subsequent business support to entrepreneurs developing scalable solutions to ocean health challenges (e.g. ocean plastics, habitat degradation, climate change impacts, unsustainable fishing). The fund/venture may be domiciled in Mauritius. If you are an entrepreneur operating in this space or want to work with us on the investment/venture side, please email me.

I am excited to be an Advisory Board Member of innovative seafloor mapping start-up PlanBlue. Based in Bremen, Germany, PlanBlue is pioneering the use of hyperspectral imaging combined with AI-based data analysis to reveal the hidden value of our oceans (we know more about Mars than we do about our own seafloor). Click on the logo to find out more

After successful first-round fundraising in 2019, the company is actively seeking further investment to accelerate global aspirations. Contact me for more information.

Sustainable Capital

I have been a Non-Executive Director and shareholder of Sustainable Capital since its inception in 2008.

Domiciled in Mauritius, this independent and owner-managed investment manager delivers long-term superior returns by applying responsible investment practices to listed equities on the African continent.

The company currently manages USD 350 Million.
